Adult Responses Conference West 2010

This is my sixth year coming to the LOGOS Conference. It is a truly amazing conference. There are always many people here, but only one face…the face of God.

Joey

I long have felt that youth need to find their own path in religion. High School students and their parents are at a turning point. LOGOS allows young people to discover the power of faith in their own way, as they edge toward the rim of their family nest.

Rick

Thank you, God, for one more year on the mountain top with you and your children. Here my spirit is refreshed, my vision lifted, my strength renewed, my passion for you refueled, my call affirmed. There may be other places where you feel so real, but his is where I have met you for a quarter of a century and will keep the appointment here ‘til I join you in heaven.

Keith

Than k you, kids.

Adam

Renewing, refreshing, amazing, inspiring, Beneficial, NECESSARY! I learn more from the kids than they do from me! I love this place.

Chris

This conference is “the mission for the soul”. That being said I will venture out of my comfort zone to help spread the word of God.

Barry

The experience revitalizes my Christian beliefs that unfortunately get pushed aside at times. I need to take this experience down off the mountain and continue the love and fellowship that is present everywhere here at the LOGOS Conference.

Keith

First of all, Colorado is the most important event in my life yearly. As a camper, I would make a mistake. I would see a near perfect world here and expect the rest of the world to soon be the same. That’s not how it goes. However, I must continue living life and eating cake. LOGOS camp is like the icing of hope making the cake delicious. Without LOGOS life can easily seem hopeless, like cake without icing. LOGOS gives me hope b showing me what truly amazing human beings are in this game of life with me. May we share the love we experience with all.

Spencer

I look at my life differently and what I can do to help our youth. A stronger mentor for them so we may take the walk together. I plan to use many of the ideas to energize them.

Steve

I came as a youth for so many years but really didn’t show or know much about my faith until being an adult to 4 girls and being a mentor to them.

Kirby

It is time for me to make a positive change in my life, removing the “me” that is in between me and my relationships with God and people in need.

Mark

If not for this week every year I could not make it. Love this place-adults and kids alike.

Bill

This conference has shown me it’s okay to be scared, but you need to be willing to leave your comfort zone. I will be more willing to encourage friends and strangers to find God.

Bob

Thanks for letting me and my family join your family.

Richard

A wonderful overall lesson about comfort zones. Very applicable for those youth who have just graduated and heading off to college.

Ron

This camp is home for me and I know it’s home for these kids. LOGOS Conference changes lives in a week.

Cassie

Nothing is more important than the children. Evert time I am a part of this it renews my faith. I trust that God will fill their minds and write on their hearts. They are the future and it looks very bright.

Rich

This was my 6th year coming to conference and my first year as an adult. Needless to say I had a blast and the experience is one that is beyond words.

John

Conference this year has brought me closer to Christ and also the amazing group of people that I came with. May I take more of him from this mountain and share his message boldly.

Jeremy

Coming to Colorado for the LOGOS conference really helps you get out of your comfort zone. You make friends with people you would never normally be friends with and the last a life time. Not only do you get close to other kids you get close with God. And when you leave, you leave with a mountain “high” and it feels amazing!

Tyler

I feel the LOGOS program and the conference is nothing short of being a life saver for the children, adults, and churches that participate. These children can come to their church programs and conferences and be accepted as children of Christ. They have the confidence of knowing that before they even arrive. Thank you.

Jim

What I get out of this conference is almost indescribable. The change I see in my children and the youth and adults from my home church is fabulous. The beauty and magnificence of the mountain setting makes it easy to get closer to God.

Jay

Coming back as an adult has been an experience beyond words. Coming as a student was an experience one cannot explain. The power of God was so strong. As an adult it was only exemplified. This camp is so amazing and life changing.

Jenna

God pulls me out of my comfort zone every time I come to conference but he blesses me so mightily every time I answer his call.

Lynn

Instant immersion! I made 200 new friends in 5 days@

Sharon

LOGOS rocks. So proud of the kids.

Josh

The conference this year was about stepping out of one’s comfort zone. I signed up for co-leader in drama. This was a huge step out of my comfort zone and I learned so much of what I am able to do. I’ve taken my first step to praying aloud as well. Thank you.

Cindy

The experience is really an amazing experience and I really hope to come back next year. The adults especially work extremely hard to make this program possible which is just one more thing that makes this trip so enjoyable. I really enjoy this trip and all of the people that are here to help praise God and that can make us more comfortable to come together to worship. The praise band is an awesome group that works very hard to make everyone worship together. The best part of this conference is communion on Friday night. It is definitely the most touching part and the reason that brings many of us back every year. I would like to thank everyone that makes this possible every year and I suggest that if you have never come to conference you start as soon as possible because it is an experience that you never forget.

Cameron

Youth Responses LOGOS Conference West 2010

This week I’ve strengthened both my relationships with God and friends and started new relationships with others. Before I came here, I was very reserved and mostly kept to myself. I am glad to have gotten the chance to come out of my shell. This was my first year here, but it won’t be the last.

Kylee

Conference was awesome like always. I love coming here every year. I learn so much about myself, church, and most importantly, God and his son. I can’t wait for next year!

Abbie

LOGOS Conference helped me expand into different groups of friends.

Luke

I will be more confident in the things that I do. I will do more things that I have been hesitant to so in the past.

Emily

This conference has shown me that I can be comfortable with who I am. I have turned my life around and this has only strengthened me to so more good and be proud of who I am. I was a sideline, but now I’m a full-on Christian. Thank you to everyone.

Alex

This conference is always amazing. The love here is outstanding and you can always feel it. The people are amazing. The feeling you get from meeting new people to extending God’s grace is awesome.

You can feel how much everyone appreciates this place. I love it and I always look forward to it. I feel closer to God and what my faith should feel like.

Jamie

This week has meant so much to me. Honestly, I never feel closer to God except for when I am up here. This year I truly stepped out of my comfort zone by climbing to the top of a waterfall ad by doing things with groups other than my own. I can’t wait to come back next year and really step out of my comfort zone.

Katie

This is the second year here on the mountain for me. I have has a great experience, yet one entirely different that last year. We were challenged this year to take a step out of our comfort zones. Last year I spent most of my time with members of my own community. This year I branched out and found that I had so much in common with others. My new relationships have certainly made this week a wonderful time. Looking back on the week as a whole, I know I have seen change among these children of God. Forever will this be a spiritual time and place as long as Your presence is felt here.

Samuel

LOGOS conference is where I finally found God. Even though I may keep my faith strong at home, I need this. You just can’t compare this to anything else that reaffirms your faith. Everyone gets along to praise God, and though there might be problems people have, and troubles they have gone through, they seem to drop all that and drop the differences to bow before the Lord. That is what makes LOGOS Conference so amazing, not to mention being in Colorado seeing some of God’s finest creation. Thank you.

Quinton.

This has been my fourth year on this mountain top. Yet again it never fails that in this place God sneaks up and shakes me, waking me up. There is something about these mountains and their unwavering stability that show me the power of God. God created these majestic mountains and yet they were only declared good. Our creator declared me Very Good. At times in my life I forget this and each year on this mountaintop God gives me the wake up call that only God can give, reminding me that I am His valued creation and no matter what or how far from the path I may end up at times, God will always be there to welcome me home with open arms, no questions asked.

Hannah

Conference is a wonderful thing. Some people that come worry me, but the with the Friday service I find that we’re not that different. It’s unfortunate that it takes me so long, but at least I get there. By the end of the week, I always feel the community we have.

No matter how much drama people bring to the mountains, it falls away under the dramatic presence of God. Eventually, everyone finds peace. This is a place of burning solace; things that come into it, people that come into this place, can’t help but catch the fire, even if they sizzle for a while. This gathering is not unlike the Pentecost.

Conference makes people acknowledge God. It puts them closer to Him. This time in particular I feel closer to God’s people. That’s remarkable, too.

I made so many new friends this year. Most of them I’ve seen before, but I must not have been looking at them.

I want this conference to be here for my children.

Nicholas

It’s a touch of heaven!

Jacob

I always thought love was just a false indication; chemical reaction in the brain. This week Jesus has opened the door for me and showed me true love.

Joe

This week was a he milestone in my life! The mountains are my favorite place in the world… and God is the best thing in my life. Having those 2 things at the same time completes me. I love this place and hope to come as many times as I can in the years to come. Thank you, God, for creating a place as beautiful as this. Amen.

Cameron

If everyone could experience what we have here…this world would KNOW.

Jake

I’m a freshman so this is my first year. I usually don’t do much in church, but now I want to get involved. I’ve learned a lot, and I’m looking forward to next year. Anyone who can should come to this conference. My parents have had some trouble and for a while I thought there was no God. Now I see I was wrong.

Trevor

Before I came, I didn’t know what to think. It was my first year, and everyone coming together for God and to praise him. This has made such a difference in my life. I met amazing people who changed my life. I am definably coming next year.

Tegan

When I first got here I wasn’t sure what to expect. But after this week I feel like I have a new relationship with God and all the people here. The support of everyone and the beauty of the mountains make the process so much better. Now I proudly embrace the term, “Jesus Freak”

Amanda

I will finally let go of my old life that’s keeping be back from getting closer to God.

Shayna

Originally I wanted to go on the mission trip. But that was scheduled during our family vacation. But I am so glad that I came here. I will definitely be coming back.

Ellen

LOGOS conference always makes me feel closer to God. Although it is only a week long, it still has a huge effect on how I feel about my faith.

Hannah

I want to be able to go home to my family and witness to my father. He is not a Christian and it breaks my heart every time to hear him treat Christianity as a joke. I love him so much and want him to be waiting for me in heaven when it’s my time to leave this earth.

Annice

This conference showed me who truly are your friends. It also helps me know even if all my friends leave me God is always here for me.

Allie

The conference is amazing. I learned a lot about God. It is very moving and is definitely an adventure.

Mel

This is how Jesus wants the whole world to be.

Ty

The conference has been an amazing experience. I’ve met great new people and got closer to God. I can’t wait for next year.

Brittney

Thursday when we got to Sky Pond I could not believe my eyes. I couldn’t believe that our God created such a spectacular view. For creating these mountains, mind-blowing and breath-taking views it is hard to believe. It is the most inspirational church camp I have ever been to and will ever go to. Knowing that there are other people who believe in the same thing I do and who feel the same way about God. I will interact more with my church

Bruce

First year here. Pretty cool. Had a lot of fun. But I came here so that maybe my views and beliefs may change because I pretty sacrilegious. And I’m regretful to say it really hasn’t changed. Still with the whole it’s a coping device created long ago because humans can’t face reality. I’ll come again for another round.

Kevin

Colorado is awesome! The activities are so much fun. I wanna come every year I can.

John

When I first came here I was a little nervous because I didn’t know if everyone was gonna be friendly, so I was quiet, but by the end of the week I look back and wish I would have talked more and made more friends.

Drake

This week at the conference I have a lot of new people which has been very fun. I also learned about helping others and I hope to volunteer and help out in the community more. You can feel the presence up in the mountains which is vey cool.

Jack

This is my 2nd year coming but this was my first real year. I really liked everyone here. I made a lot of friends. It was a little “if-ish” in choir though.

Justin

I will be quicker to forgive and let go of grudges.

I will slower to judge and talk back.

I will be more open and less reserved.

I will dare to leave my comfort zone.

Zach

Coming to Colorado is amazing and I’m glad that people can make it possible. All the people I meet are incredible and I can never wait to see them again next year and wonder what new people I will meet. The guys in my room are incredible and the leaders and adults are amazing.

Ben

This conference has shown me that you should never judge others. No matter how intimidating someone seems, they are God’s children and treat others the same. It was surprising to see the friendships that people share and the kindness everyone shares.

Brian

My life has been forever changed by the things I saw at Mt. Ypsilon! It really affirmed my faith.

Sam

I really didn’t know what to expect. I was at first nervous but when I got here I realized that whatever reputation you might have had at your hometown almost nobody knows you so basically you get a clean slate. I feel so much closer to God in the mountains.

Sam

My first year was great! I learned that I can leave my comfort zone and it will be okay. I am going to come back next year! God loves you whether you like it or not!

Emily

Experience like no other. You realize how big the world is in the mountains which makes you realize how insignificant all your problems are no matter what your belief, personality, etc. there is always a place somewhere. Encourage to try at least once. My only regret is waiting till my junior year to come. Just like the song, it’s Indescribable. With great thanks to all.

Christopher

This has been a great thing for me! This was not the greatest year for me and because of the friends that I made from LOGOS I have to do a 180. This was just an amazing thing for me! Can’t wait to come back again.

Cassie

I never felt fully comfortable with myself. No matter where I am or who I’m with, there are always things I absolutely hate about myself. I can’t express how much this week has changed my confidence. I think this week has changed me more than any experience in my life. I truly appreciate everything people have done for me.

Libby

This trip has changed me more and more each year. This time I truly experienced the beauty the mountains have to offer. I feel so close to my fellow youth. A life altering trip.

Dan

I feel that this has been a life changing event…again. I’ll be ready to return next year and see how my life will once again be changed. God Bless.

John

What I learned is that getting out of your comfort zone is not a bad thing.

Harry

I have had my eyes opened and I will no longer be a sideline Christian. I will help others. I am going to work extremely hard to earn money and donate it to different foundations. This amazing place has opened my heart to the homeless and in need. I can’t wait to come back next year.

Lexie

This place is my favorite place to be all summer. Every time I leave I cry and promise that I will try my best to get more people involved in my church.

Alyx

Helped me remember that everyone is to be treated as a Child of God.

Helped me step out of my comfort zone and when I get back home I won’t be afraid to show my religion and my belief in God.

Molly

I can speak more freely about God to my friend and God. And I found who I am.

Mary

These few days have just been enlightening in the ways of the Lord. Even though I am a Deist, I still am questioning what I truly believe. Also this is a break from my daily routine.

Ian

A Haiku:

Crystal mountaintops

The aged face of God within

My soul is aflame.

William

I will try to talk to my friends more about coming to church and Christianity.

Kendra

This is a real life idea that will stick with you the rest of your life.

Richard

Before I came here I didn’t understand God a lot. Now I know him more than ever and I’m enjoying it.

Jessica

I love all the people here and how touching the overall experience is.

Emma

Breathtaking, life changing

Stan

It was awesome. Thanks for letting us play. Don’t change anything.

Spencer

This is one week you are here you experience God in many ways you never have. You will never forget this. I am counting down the days till next year.

Colin

I plan on not being afraid of letting my friends back home know that I am a Christian. I don’t care if it’s not cool. I trust in Jesus more than ever.

Kelsey

Thursday afternoon I experienced a hike to Sky Pond. When I finally reached a waterfall at the climax of the climb I turned and saw a spectacular view that was truly INDESCRIBABLE. I have several friends back home who are skeptical of the presence of God in their lives. If any of them were to see what
I have seen, there would be no doubt.

Patrick

At home I would always say, Oh yeah, sure, I’m a Christian. But I would never really reach out to people and share the word of God. But this year at LOGOS I have learned to step our of my comfort zone. So I am going to try my hardest to be an outgoing Christian.

Jayme

This conference is amazing. It brings me closer to all my friends and most importantly God. You can feel God with you al the time and it’s the best feeling in the world. Best time of my life!

Kelsey

Being here has brought me closer to God again. I felt like I was losing my faith and drifting away. This has brought me back and has made me want to trust God with my life and make more time for church. Also I had an awesome time meeting new people and I had the best roomies ever. I’ll miss that!

Ali

This conference has changed my life by showing me I can let down emotional barriers and open up to new ideas and people. It has also shown me I can help others expand their fait.

Laura

This is my 3rd year at LOGOS. It has made me want to live a better life and to help people. I feel open here. I never really fit in and here no one cares about that. I have friends here and going back is like a weight on my shoulders.

Hannah

This is my 3rd year at camp and I just love it here. The people at this camp are some of the most amazing people I have ever met. They make me feel so comfortable when talking about God and my faith. I look forward to this camp every year so I can experience all the joys and wonderful things that come with this camp.

Grace

This is the greatest experience of my life. Gods is just everywhere and in everyone and everyone is so accepting and even if something happens to make you not feel accepted, turn the corner and there’s someone with their arms extended to you. God is in everyone here and never let anyone tell you he’s not because our God is the greatest thing in this hateful, unforgiving world. God loves us more than we know or deserve and I love him so much after my experience here.

Alyssa

Back at home I don’t feel very accepted. Out here I can breathe by myself without being judged and enjoy being closer to God. Being surrounded by mountains makes me feel so alive. Words can’t describe how I feel getting out of the car and being surrounded by mountains. It is a life changing trip.

Lowgren

I have been coming back for 4 years and I will miss it here when I no longer am here. I feel closer to God when I’m up here with all these wonderful people and the adults always there to make me believe more and more.

Gaylene

This experience has been ultimately life changing. Although the time here has been short the time I have spent with God and other people has felt like a lifetime! I am truly looking forward to continuing the experience.

Andrew

Every time I come here I feel God’s presence which is something I rarely feel back home. I usually question my faith, but when I’m here I know it’s real. I just hope that when I go back home I can keep this week in my heart. I love everyone here and all of the people that make it happen. I’m already counting the days until I come back.

Nick

Anxiety, nervousness, excitement, awkwardness, happiness…there are not enough words to describe the feelings you get being here, but I would have it no other way. This place, these people are amazing.

Lindsey

Wow, I can’t even describe what this week has meant to me. I have honestly never felt so close to God. I love being able to just be myself and share my faith and not be judged by it. I love being able to talk to people who really care. Katie

I feel blessed by the people that surround me. I feel more than grateful to be back where I belong. This past year was really rough and only by the power of the Lord was it that I returned home. I thank the Lord for giving me this experience. It’s only with him that I’ll ever go on the right path. Thank you to everyone that made this happen, and that have guided me this far.  Alex

This week has meant a lot to me. It just hit me during communion that I am now a Christian and accepted by Jesus. It feels great! Chris

Since this is my last year here as a youth, this year has been the best out of the five I attended. Every year and day I keep getting that much closer to God. I know when I come down the mountain that I will be such a better person and much more relaxed with my religion. Jordan

This, like always, has been just an amazing week. Every year helps my faith grow, just as much, if not more, than the year before. Thanks be to God. Ryan
